| HJF is seeking a Administrative Assistant for the Radiation Sciences Department, located at the Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI) in Bethesda, Maryland. HJF provides scientific, technical and programmatic support services to AFRRI. AFRRI is a tri-service laboratory chartered in 1961 and a major component of the Uniformed Services University, conducts research in the field of radiobiology and related matters essential to the operational and medical support of the U.S. Department of Defense and the military services. The Institute collaborates with other governmental facilities, academic institutions, and civilian laboratories in the United States and other countries. The Institute's findings have broad military and civilian applications. Responsibilities: 1. Administrative duties associated with the operations of the cobalt facility, the TRIGA reactor facility, the low-level cobalt facility and other miscellaneous radiation sources. 2. Work in the Radiation Sciences Department at AFRRI. 3. Serves to assist in administrative management of multiple Nuclear Regulatory Commission licenses. 4. Provide clerical support in matters pertaining to correspondence, records management, document creation, etc. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledgeable in use of DoD correspondence, use of spreadsheets, and use of internet. Knowledge of proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, etc.; excellent communication skills; ability to type at least 60 wpm, and effectively communicate with a diverse group of people Minimal Requirements: Skilled in use of MS Word, MS Outlook, MS Power Point, and MS Excel Minimum Education/Training Requirements: High School Diploma Minimum Experience: 0 to 2 years office experience Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents, in lieu of stated minimums, require the prior approval of the Director of Human Resources. |
