Are you interested in applying your A/V knowledge to join a team responsible for the Enterprise A/V technologies and meeting support at APL?

We are seeking an Audio/Visual Production Operator to maintain and operate A/V equipment in, as well as provide meeting support for, our auditoriums and conference rooms. As an Audio/Visual ProductionOperator, you will support the audio visual operations throughout the enterprise facility.

You will be responsible for collaborating with project managers and customers to plan resources and solutions for events, pre-checking spaces for technical connectivity, testing updates, and ensuring all audio and visual components have successful connectivity for both hybrid and in-person meeting attendees to ensureoperational reliability.

As an Audio/Visual Production Operator....

  • You will operate audio devices and lighting boards on APL video and A/V productions.
  • You will operate analog and digital sound equipment, including mixers, microphones, and digital radio frequency wireless systems.
  • You will operate projection and LCD wall display hardware and software for multi-image display.
  • You will administer and operate Zoom meetings, including management of images, audio, and video to include cameras, USB capture devices, and video switchers.
  • You will connect, operate, and troubleshoot unclassified video-teleconference equipment and collaboration equipment, such as Cisco, Zoom, and Logitech room kits for Zoom meetings.
  • You will perform quality control on video and audio signals and ensure compliance with industry standards. (SMPTE, CCIR, ATSC, etc.)

You will be joining a team that provides meeting support and guidance on the evolution and investment in A/V and audio equipment for APL's facilities. In this role you will collaborate with the Lead Design Engineer and provide equipment research and recommendations, operational usability testing, and quality control of all audio, video, and low-voltage connections made by installation technician


Qualifications

You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...

  • Possess a BA/BS in a relevant discipline (Communications, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering), or equivalentwith a minimum of 3 years' experience maintaining A/V systems,or equivalent combination of higher educationand experience.
  • Have strong interpersonal skills
  • Have demonstrated expertise in A/V systems operations, and maintenance, including projectors, signal routing/conversion equipment, audio consoles, and wireless audio systems; ability to test and troubleshoot devices and components
  • Have demonstrated knowledge of industry standards for audio capture and recording, video encoding and capture, and device and A/V control-system signal routing and connectivity
  • Have the ability to work independently with minimal guidance
  • Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...

  • Have familiarity with APL systems and equipment
  • Have familiarity with LED wall display hardware and multi-screen display software
  • Have familiarity with Mac and PC platforms
  • MA/MS
  • Expert-level programming using AMX or Crestron
  • Design and management of A/V systems for buildings with multiple sizes/types of facilities
  • Hardware- and software-based streaming codecs (Haivision, Vbrick, Zoom)
  • Experience with procurement and vendor management

Special Working Conditions:

Support classified events in a closed area.Occasionally work after normal business hours to support events. Some overnight travel required.Valid driver's license and good driving record required. Setup and operate AV gear in indoor/outdoor settings on APL's campus including loading, moving and setting up equipment.
