Job Summary
B&A is looking for a Communication Specialist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting the US Courts OSCAR program. We are looking for a Communications Specialist who will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communication initiatives to enhance our company's brand reputation, engage stakeholders, and drive business objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communication, excellent writing and editing skills, and a passion for storytelling and creative content creation. The Communications Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams to craft compelling messages, develop impactful content, and manage communication channels to reach target audiences effectively.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute strategic communication plans and campaigns to promote company initiatives, products, and services to internal and external audiences.
  • Create engaging content for various communication channels, including press releases, blog posts, social media posts, newsletters, and website content.
  • Collaborate with marketing, public relations, and social media teams to align communication efforts and amplify messaging across channels.
  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends, and proactively identify opportunities to position the company as a thought leader in the industry.
  • Manage relationships with media contacts, journalists, and influencers to secure media placements and coverage.
  • Coordinate and support internal communication initiatives, including employee newsletters, intranet content, and company announcements.
  • Provide communications support for events, conferences, and tradeshows, including developing promotional materials and coordinating media outreach.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of communication initiatives using metrics and analytics tools and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in communication and content marketing, and share knowledge with the team.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.
  • 8 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or related roles, with a strong track record of developing and executing communication strategies and campaigns.
Required Skills
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise, and compelling messaging for diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), social media platforms, and email marketing tools.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a passion for storytelling and innovative communication approaches.
Desired Skills
  • Master's degree in communications, Public Relations, or related field.
  • Knowledge of SEO principles and content optimization techniques.
  • Experience with media relations, including pitching stories and managing media inquiries.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques for measuring communication effectiveness.
  • Previous experience with event planning and coordination.
