Job Posting: Nurse Practitioner (Acute Care) - Johns Hopkins Neuro Vascular Program

Position: We are seeking a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with acute care expertise to join our dynamic team. As a Nurse Practitioner in our Neuro Vascular Program, you will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive care to patients with neurological and vascular conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside world-class physicians and healthcare professionals in a collaborative and stimulating environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients with neurovascular disorders, including history-taking, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes.
  • Perform and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures, such as neurovascular imaging studies and laboratory tests.
  • Provide education and counseling to patients and their families regarding their condition, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
  • Participate in patient rounds, case conferences, and multidisciplinary meetings to discuss treatment plans and patient progress.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters, assessments, and interventions in electronic medical records.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Maryland (or eligibility for licensure).
  • Certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in acute care, preferably in neurology, neurosurgery, or vascular surgery.
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills, with the ability to independently manage complex patients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centered approach to care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and collaborative healthcare environment.
