Responsibilities

Join a high performing team supporting GEOINT Ground as Deputy Lead for Systems Engineering & Operations (SE&O). Ensure SE&O is applying best practices and lessons learned across mission threads. Attend major thread program reviews and milestones (e.g. PMRs, thread briefs, PSRs, GRET, GRRs) to ensure thread has a plan to meet commitments, ground acquisitions have clear requirements and priorities, and risks are proactively being mitigated. Optimize early definition of integration objectives and increase iterative integration exercises/demos as risk reduction for formal enterprise tests. Advise adoption of process improvements such as automation, DevSecOps, Digital Engineering, and Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence. Improve coordination across mission partners through regular engagements at working level and by elevating decisions when needed. Coordinate with Operations and Users to ensure procedures and guides are up to date, there are no negative impacts to Operations, and new capabilities are understood and ready.

Specific tasks are:

    Provide feedback on content in preparation for major thread milestones and reviews.
  • Document and share best practices and lessons learned across threads.
  • Deep dive technical and programmatic issues and offer solutions to improve readiness and successful completion of significant commitments.
  • Define integration objectives and increase early iterative integration to improve satisfaction of entrance criteria for enterprise tests and transitions.
  • Optimize mission partner collaboration by increasing engagement and establishing agreement on joint objects early in the lifecycle.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 12 to 15 years with BS/BA or 10 to 12 years with MS/MA or 8 to 10 years with Ph.D.
  • Must possess and maintain a TS/SCI. Must be able to Obtain and maintain a Poly.
  • Knowledge of GEOINT CONOPS, systems, and products.
  • Experience with software testing and transitions (e.g., IIWs, Solution Demos, EITs, STs, ETAPs, ORR, TTO, ORD)
  • Experience with Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) and/or Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT).
  • Knowledge of SAFe or Agile frameworks.
  • Strong representational, oral, and written communications skills, including the ability to produce clear, logical, and concise products.
  • Proven organization and interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interface effectively via written and oral forums with personnel at all levels of government.

Desired:

  • Experience with RADAR and EO.
  • Experience with Operations.
  • Experience with commercial Atlassian tools (e.g. Confluence, JIRA).
  • Experience with Digital Engineering.
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
  • Experience with Software Acquisition.
