Summary

The Supply Chain Coordinator serves as the primary resource for placing orders, receiving, shipping, and inventory management at designated locations. Also responsible for the communication of back orders, obtaining tracking numbers, and reconciling invoices. The Supply Chain Coordinator will monitor and make recommendations to achieve best practice freight and material management tactics with a cost-conscious approach to support the organization. This position is a primary contact for anything supply chain related and works closely with various O&P+B departments.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Collect, process, and track orders for MFB Orthotics & Prosthetics utilizing the purchasing and inventory software.
  • Review clinicians' and technicians' submitted materials orders.
  • Fill orders from inventory when possible.
  • Create and submit purchase orders..
  • Verify pricing is best available and maximizes benefit of group purchasing agreements.
  • Monitor compliance with group purchasing contracts.
  • Follow-up on backorders, process returns and investigate and resolves any issues.
  • Maintain current vendor product offering information/catalogues and price lists.
  • Monitor purchasing trends and habits to identify and implement products and processes to reduce material and freight cost of goods sold.
  • Manage orthotics and prosthetics inventory across the O&P Continuum, with the support of P&I Team.
  • Assist management by proposing improvements to the purchasing and inventory systems that will reduce materials costs.
  • Handle receiving and shipping of all packages for designated location.
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving and other logistics related to purchasing and inventory.
  • Support clinical and office/billing staff by compiling any requested materials cost information.
  • Support O&P Lab with material requests, ordering, transportation, tracking of fabricated devices, and creating and closing out in-house invoices.
  • Reconciles and codes invoices, post batches on time and in accordance with established payment terms.
  • Connect with vendor sales representative to review products and equipment as well as establish more efficient workflows.
  • Able to drive a vehicle to transport product between buildings/locations and help cover staffing at other office locations when necessary

Customer Service Responsibilities

Essential Job Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Materials Management, Business or similar degree or equivalent experience, preferably for a healthcare facility.
  • Organizational and communication skills.
  • Initiative/ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent teamwork and customer service skills
  • Computer skills, including data entering and proficient typing skills
  • Professional mannerism in dealing with all people including clinicians, physicians, patients, visitors, colleagues, and vendors
  • Must have a valid State of Michigan driver's license.

Preferred Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree - Materials Management, Business or similar degree preferred.
  • B.L.S. certification.
