Job Description Summary: | The GW Nursing Simulation and Innovation Learning Center is a 20,000 sq. ft. state of the art simulation center on the Virginia Science and Technology Campus. The simulation center was designed by simulation theorist Dr. Pamela Jeffries. The Dedicated Simulation Educator is responsible for facilitation of nursing simulation-based education scenarios for prelicensure and graduate nursing education. This position is responsible for day to day facilitation, prebriefing, implementing simulation scenarios, and debriefing. Additionally, this role is responsible for ensuring the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice are maintained, providing evaluation of peers, and evaluation data collection for accreditation. In collaboration with Director of Simulation and Experiential Learning, this role will assist in designing and revising simulation scenarios and will coordinate simulation courses. Additional simulation education activities may include professional development activities around simulation pedagogy, the Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice, policy and procedure updates, and simulation accreditation. This position will also assist with set-up and cleanup of lab space. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Master's degree in nursing plus 3 years of relevant professional experience, of which at least 2 years must be nursing experience. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. |
