Position Summary

Responsible for identifying, qualifying, and supporting the capture of new business opportunities. Develops and maintains relationships with decision makers in U.S. government space and defense agencies. Executes Airbus U.S. strategies to achieve maximum market penetration and growth by working collaboratively with the space engineering and program teams, as well as other business development leads across the company.


Position Responsibilities

  • Develops and executes strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key opportunities.
  • Works autonomously to influence and partner with internal and external stakeholders, while executing proposal and capture efforts.
  • Understands Airbus U.S. space portfolio and work with technical experts to identify solutions which will meet customers' needs and requirements.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relations with customers. Ensures continuing customer relations and an effective flow of information to deliver business objectives.
  • Coordinates and conducts all aspects of business development capture management following all required processes and preparing products for the capture of assigned pursuits.
  • Supports the Space Division leadership in establishing a realistic capture pipeline; provide timely and accurate campaign status supporting forecasting of new orders.
  • Obtains market intelligence and competitive data pertaining to targeted pursuits and market segments.
  • Supports the development of market objectives, strategies, goals, and plans for assigned customers and market segments.
  • Represents the company at trade association meetings, tradeshows, conferences, and/or industry seminars to promote our products and services.
  • Evaluate and provide campaign status and market updates
  • Conduct competitive analysis that relates directly to product offerings and campaign objectives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Space-related scientific areas; a business or policy degree with demonstrated background in space field is acceptable.

Experience:

  • A minimum of eight (8) years' campaign management experience required in the space, defense, or intelligence sectors.
  • Working knowledge of or experience supporting business development programs with U.S. Government and/or space industry customers focused on opportunity development and program capture
  • Experience leading collaborative cross-functional teams in successful execution of campaign capture plans
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Government contracting, contract types, procurement, and budgeting processes
  • Demonstrated skills in gathering data from multiple, often disparate, sources and synthesizing into meaningful reports and presentations
  • Proven record of success managing campaign activities within the DoD & IC community
  • Proven "Voice of the Customer" and relationship management skills.

  • Detailed understanding of satellite capabilities is desired
  • Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities while meeting high-quality standards in a fast-paced environment supporting critical business development activities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work to meet deadlines (nights, weekends, and holidays at times) across multiple time zones
  • Ability to work well both in a team and independently
  • Ability to work with a diverse, geographically distributed team
  • Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards
  • Experienced in the Shipley Capture Management process or similar experience/training
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred

Technical Systems Proficiency:

  • Familiarity with online tools used by the Federal Government for solicitations.
  • Excellent PC skills, specifically Office 365, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint
  • Familiarity with Salesforce, Costpoint, Deltek systems a plus

Communication Skills:

  • Excellent listening, comprehension & interpersonal skills as responsible for daily communication via email and phone calls required
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication (verbal/writing), and presentation skills. Must be able to present clear and concise reports to customers and executives.
  • Foreign language skills are desirable. Specifically, French or German.

Eligibility:

  • U.S. Citizenship required.

Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the Secret level required
  • Active DoD security clearance preferred, at Secret or TS/SCI level

Travel Required:

  • Up to 35% travel (domestic and international) required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Carrying: able to carry documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Lifting: able to lift documents and/or electronic equipment up to 20lbs/9kg.
  • Pushing/Pulling: able to push/pull items in office areas.
  • Sitting: able to sit for extended periods of time at computer and in meetings.
  • Squatting/Kneeling: able to occasionally squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items shelved on bottom shelves.
  • Standing: able to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice.
  • Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces.
