INTRODUCTION

As it is critically important that plants receive water and food on a regular basis, the Greenhouse Labor is responsible for watering plants during weekends and other times when the Greenhouse is closed such as Monday holidays.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work with the Manager, Greenhouse Operations to ensure proper care of the greenhouses and plants during weekends and holidays.
  2. Follow the plant watering plan developed by the Manager, Greenhouse Operations to include, but not limited to:
    1. Accurate and consistent watering of the plants
    2. Observe and report any plant care issues (i.e. spots, mold, wilt) to the Manager, Greenhouse Operations immediately.
  3. Properly secure the Greenhouse and equipment when the work is completed:
    1. Unlock and lock the Greenhouse upon entry and exit.
    2. Ensure that hoses are turned on or off according to the watering plan.
    3. Properly store all equipment used in watering the plants at the end of each shift.

4. Consistently report to the Greenhouse so that work can be completed before noon each day.

  1. Accurately report work hours by clocking in and out on time
  2. Attend required meetings and trainings on the care and maintenance of green house
  3. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

H.S. Diploma or certificate preferred. One-year experience working in greenhouse operation or a related field preferred. Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from work. Must be able to work weekends and Monday holidays. Prior work experience working with people with disabilities preferred.
