General Clerk III

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance or the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance to be considered.

Under the direction of the Task Supervisor, the General Clerk III performs moderately complex litigation support tasks, including, for example, detained review and analysis of case materials in a broad range of subject matters, such as financial records, health care materials, and other litigation files, detailed indexing of files, drafting procedures for accomplishing litigation support assignments, document acquisition related tasks, screening for privilege documents, conducting database searches, and performing e-discover culling. Proofreads and edits deliverable products. Sometimes serves as 'team leader' for larger from of Document Management Technicians and clerical support staff. Often works with minimal supervision.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for General Clerk III: $18.74 - $23.82

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

General Clerk III Responsibilities Include:

  • Write and transcribe legal documents.
  • Performs detailed review and analysis of case materials.
  • Indexes case files.
  • Drafts documents to submit to court.
  • Conducts database research.
  • Proofreads and edits court documents.
  • Compiles discovery for litigation.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

General Clerk III Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • One year of experience on major litigation support projects or undergraduate degree. Certain assignments may require experience or substantial undergraduate coursework in, for example, finance/accounting, health care, or substantial experience in the legal environment or in information technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the Government's databases, such as, Oracle, Trial Director, etc.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
  • Work is performed primarily in a climate-controlled office setting over a five-day work week during normal business hours.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
