Title Sign Shop Support/Print Technician (Upper-Marlboro, MD) Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Inside sales, customer service, order taking, assignment of tasks to others, monitoring production schedule and a variety of sign making and general shop duties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Inside sales, phone orders and customer service. Read, understand and take sign orders. Input orders on PC using custom program (Vista by Viewpoint).
  2. Assign work and monitor progress to keep production work flowing smoothly.
  3. Provide guidance and instructions to other sign makers.
  4. Set up and utilizes sign maker computer to produce custom signs and graphics.
  5. Marks, positions and applies letters to sign face.
  6. Gathers, lifts and carries inventory items such as reflective sheeting, aluminum blacks, plywood, tools and finished signs (etc.) when needed.
  7. Inventory control and maintenance

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Coordinates installation orders with Project Managers.
  2. Shop maintenance and cleanliness
  3. Daily safety meetings with direct reports
  4. Order sign shop materials as needed.
  5. Performs other work related duties as assigned.

Pay Range Rate: $ 21.00 and 26.00 Per Hour depending on experience

Position Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in traffic sign production preferred,
  • Previous experience with with Flexi, or Graphtec
  • Must be willing and able to work independently.
  • Computer experience in word processing and spreadsheet. Keyboard skills required.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions as given.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds.
