Using state-of-the-art remote sensing technology, Fugro transforms spatial data into practical knowledge that supports essential resource assessment and mitigation operations, transportation, utilities, emergency and asset management, and infrastructure development.

The Senior Geospatial Analyst collects mapping data and performs specific mapping sciences to produce a product that meets internal and external client requirements. The Senior Analyst will also provide training, perform independent quality reviews of other staff members' work, provide technical support, and perform administrative duties as required.

The Senior Geospatial Analyst will assist the Technical/Team Lead in guiding, managing, delegating, and overseeing the team's work and tracking and reporting project status.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Process lidar data by project-specific requirements: TerraScan macro development and manual editing/QC.
  • Perform independent quality reviews of other staff members' work.
  • Perform final quality review (as deemed necessary) on staff members' work to verify conformance to specifications and requirements.
  • Know the various factors affecting production, i.e. time allotted for the project and its metrics, quality, and quantity of work produced, and project specifications.
  • Recognize and solve problems on a timely basis to keep the project on schedule; use independent judgment in determining courses of action.
  • Provide training oversight and act as an additional training/technical resource to production and clients.
  • Report to the technical/team lead or department supervisor on project status and/or any matter that may adversely affect the quality of the product.
  • Provide written and oral reports as needed on technical and professional issues.
  • Exercise creativity in assigned duties, analyzing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
  • Recommend changes and/or develop software utilities and utilize tools to develop and maintain software.

Job Requirements:

  • Legally Authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geospatial Sciences, GIS, or related field of study is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of production experience in processing lidar data, lidar-derived productions, and other types of terrain products.
  • Possess working knowledge of lidar processing and QC software packages: Microstation, TerraSolid, LP360, Global Mapper, ArcGIS, LASTools, etc.
  • Must have a thorough and technical understanding of lidar technology, data quality, and relevant industry standards.
  • Experience with MS Office (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work independently without supervision as well as within a team.
