The position of Director, Valuation will be a senior level valuation services professional with extensive sales, technical oversight, and staff development responsibilities. The Director, Valuation will be a key driver to grow the practice and extend the Sikich brand name in this specialty.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the department partner to Identify, develop and close external leads for business valuation services including assignments in financial statement reporting, litigation, transactions, taxation, and financing for prospects in the private, public, and non-profit sectors.
  • Work closely with equipment and real estate professionals in multi-disciplinary assignments
  • Prepare client contracts and engagement letters according to Sikich standards
  • Lead in the planning and execution of assignments including proper staffing and time budgets
  • Participate in regular engagement review and quality control
  • Expected to maintain 50% chargeability
  • Participate in department wide training initiatives
  • Participate in department recruiting program
  • Participate in Sikich wide marketing efforts in various industry niches
  • Maintain strong current knowledge in the field through continuing education and active participation in relevant professional organizations; apply that knowledge to new initiatives for growth in the department

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field
  • MBA or MA in accounting, finance, or related field
  • Current certification as an ASA, or ABV, required, CPA a plus
  • Minimum of fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years of direct previous experience
  • Recognized expert in the field of business valuation and intangible asset appraisal with specific experience and contacts for users in tax, transaction, litigation, financing, and financial statement reporting appraisals.
  • Superior skills in financial modelling.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work with real estate and equipment specialists in multi-disciplinary assignments. Expert in financial analysis.
  • Proven revenue generation and successful project completion for attorneys and business entities. Ability to source and close $2 million of revenue annually
  • Superior skills in project planning and management and team leadership
  • Ability to train staff and provide excellent quality control and client service
  • Extensive testimony experience in a range of matters
  • Active membership in relevant professional associations including committee participation and speaking
  • Active in the production of thought leadership delivered by a variety of means; ability to work with marketing personnel to incorporate valuation advertising with the messages of Sikich
  • Ability to work with other specialties of the firm to cross sell and provide complex consulting services
