Job Description

Standard Solar is looking for a Project Scheduler who is familiar with planning, coordinating, and developing project schedules for Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Solar projects of varying size and complexity. Ability to work at the project level alone or as part of a team to support the preconstruction and construction departments with initial project schedules, recurring schedule updates, and special incidental work such as Time-Impact Analyses. The Project Scheduler is responsible for working closely with technical experts, project leads, and project managers in planning, creating, and managing project schedules. He/she should be able to make recommendations for best process control, subcontract integration, mitigation of schedule risk, assignment coordination, task logic, and activity duration.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops & maintains proposal & pre-construction schedules using Microsoft Project in accordance with best practice scheduling procedures and processes while following department directives for small to medium scale C&I Solar projects. (250kW – 15MW carports, roof mounts and ground mount (fixed/SAT) projects).
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Microsoft Project in accordance with best practice scheduling procedures and process following department directives for small to medium scale C&I Solar projects.
  • Develop resources and maintain cost loaded baseline integrated master schedule (IMS) which will contain project level schedule elements using MS Project.
  • Collaborates with construction project teams on sequencing and a general understanding of means & methods and applying those effects to the schedule.
  • Responsible for working closely with project managers, technical experts, and project leads in planning, creating, and managing project schedules.
  • Impact analysis of project documents to identify potential project impacts such as critical path or project priority impacts.
  • Manage multi-disciplinary construction project schedules including design, engineering, construction, and integration of major sub-contractor’s schedule.
  • Analysis of proposal documents to generate activities, logic, and production rate at a level of detail adequate for the schedule.
  • Prepare Monthly Pay Estimates and support cost reporting regarding the schedule baseline, performance against the schedule, and associated schedule risks/mitigations.
  • Prepare and present Time-Impact Analyses of changes of requirements or priorities on the project schedule and critical path.
  • Prepare, present, identify, and enable project schedule narratives and program management priorities based on information and priorities articulated in meetings, applications, and master schedule to provide recommendations on how to reduce risk.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
  • Five 5+ years of experience in construction management, electrical installation and/or solar.
  • Strong scheduling knowledge and familiarization with Commercial and Industrial solar projects.
  • Ability to develop, manage, update and analyze schedule in Microsoft Project.
  • Working knowledge of all phases of execution from planning and zoning, design, procurement, permitting, construction, and close-out.
  • Strong construction planning knowledge and ability to interpret project plans and specifications to developed program level construction schedule activities.
  • Working knowledge of field production rates and ability to analyze schedule durations using perimetric and unit rate production rates.
  • Ability to develop, update and maintain cost load and/or resource loaded schedules.
  • Ability to develop cashflow and resource models.
  • Excels in a high-paced work environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Expert problem solver.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, Procore, and SharePoint are preferred.
