About Dr. Arlene Barro
UCLA-trained Dr. Arlene holds both a master’s and a Ph.D. with distinction for her doctoral dissertation on creativity. She is an educator, educational psychologist, and evaluator who is a nationally recognized search consultant. She coaches career and business clients from coast to coast. In 2003, Dr. Arlene founded barro global search, inc., a retained executive search firm of which she is the CEO.
In her search practice, Dr. Arlene created the Right Fit Method which is based on the Standard of the Right Fit not the Standard of the “best” to enable unemployed, employed, entrepreneurs, and employers to make Right Fit matches and maintain these matches, if possible. The Method is also applicable to both our professional and personal lives.
Dr. Arlene is the author of WIN Without Competing! which explains step-by-step how to implement the Right Fit Method to achieve career success. Her book was nominated for a business book award and published in the United States and in India by Macmillan.
Teaching the Right Fit Method is Dr. Arlene’s passion. As the producer and talk-show host of the popular radio show “WIN Without Competing!,” she demonstrates the Method by interviewing successful guests including New York Times best-selling authors. “WIN Without Competing!” is frequently a Today’s Pick featured on the homepage of BlogTalkRadio, the number one Internet radio station.
As a career coach, Dr Arlene mentors clients by phone to personalize and customize the Method so that it is easy for them to master to achieve career success. Candidates learn how to prepare themselves as the one Right Fit to potential employers and entrepreneurs learn how to present themselves as the one Right Fit to potential clients. In Dr. Arlene’s world there is no competition, only yourself.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Arlene was a medical school dean, an associate professor of surgery (education), an associate division director who headed a $60 million education program at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, the author of the internationally successful monograph on measuring physician performance, and author of an anti-cancer audiobook series for the public.
