For more information, please visit www.standardsolar.com.   Description Standard Solar, a Brookfield Renewable Company, is a leading independent power producer focused on acquiring, developing, funding and operating DG-scale solar energy and storage projects throughout the US. We are looking to expand our in-house legal department with an attorney who has direct experience with preparing and negotiating agreements for the acquisition and development of DG-scale solar energy and storage projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Lead transactional counsel for distributed solar and solar + storage acquisition and development transactions – community solar garden, C&I/behind the meter, virtual net-metered, and AC/DC coupled storage Manage and lead activities by working with internal transaction teams Review, draft and negotiate relevant agreements including MIPA/APAs, site control, revenue agreements. and other agreements and documents ancillary to acquisition and development transactions Prepare and negotiate term sheets and LOIs for the acquisition of assets Provide practical legal advice and support on various commercial matters and organic growth initiatives including renewable energy project development, joint ventures, and partnerships with local developers Provide project-level legal leadership and support to the transactions, business development/deal origination and structured finance teams Engage and manage outside transactional counsel Play an integral role in the broader in-house legal team Interface directly with developer, seller and offtake counterparties Ensure quality, clarity and consistency across acquisition transactions Reports directly to the General Counsel and Chief Development Officer   Minimum Education, Skills and Qualifications: Juris Doctor (or LLB) from accredited law school At least 4+ of experience in a law firm or in-house to renewable energy transactions, preferably in solar Extensive MIPA experience a plus, strong working experience with MIPA/APAs required Ability to work closely with cross-functional internal teams and manage several transactions simultaneously Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and legal leadership skills Embrace and by the mission and values of Standard Solar – working together to promoting clean energy!   About our Locations This position can either be based in Standard Solar’s home office in Rockville, MD, its Los Angeles, CA office located in the Playa District Business Campus, https://www.playadistrictla.com/, or remotely.   Compensation & Benefits Competitive Base Salary + Annual Bonus SSI’s comprehensive benefits package includes dental, vision, health, life, and disability insurance; 401(k) plan with company match and immediate vesting; continuing education and professional development assistance   Salary Range - $180,000 - $215,000 with bonus potential   EOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
